Overview
WedGel is the Wedge Industries Limited aerogel brand: silica aerogel blanket on a glass-fibre carrier, supplied to refineries, process plants, EV battery makers and building projects across India and exported to 45+ countries. In the Lucknow region it has already been sold to S K Exports in Kanpur, and textile, leather, defence-corridor and automotive plants are the target users.
Aerogel is specified for one reason: thickness. A typical industrial dryer running at 75°C surface / 150°C process reaches a skin temperature below 40°C with 20 mm of WedGel WAG400, where mineral wool would need two to three times the thickness and would not fit in the guard space.

Aerogel insulation price in Lucknow and Kanpur
Aerogel is a premium material priced per m² by grade and thickness; it is chosen where the thickness saving or energy saving justifies it. Installation and specification notes
Blanket is wrapped and banded or pinned like mineral wool, with the same cladding; cut with a knife, no special tools. Aerogel dust is inert but a mask and gloves are recommended during cutting. Composite panels and die-cut pads are supplied where a rigid or shaped part is needed.

Frequently asked questions
How much thinner is aerogel than mineral wool?
In the same duty, roughly 10 mm of aerogel replaces 40–50 mm of conventional insulation. On a dryer at 150°C process temperature, 20 mm of WedGel WAG400 brings the skin below 40°C.
Is aerogel worth the price for a Kanpur textile plant?
Where the machine guard, pipe rack or duct has no room for thick wool, or where energy loss on a dryer is high, the pay-back is usually quick. Wedge proposes a paid 20 mm pilot with measured results before a plant-wide order.
Which WedGel grade do I need?

Is aerogel blanket waterproof?
The blanket is hydrophobic and sheds water, which keeps its insulation value in humid Uttar Pradesh plants; it still needs normal cladding outdoors.

Yes — the Wedge Fire Barrier AGF aerogel-fire composite range (1–5 mm, UL94 V-0) is made for EV and BESS packs and is a separate qualification path for OEMs.
