Overview

The CSP-50 is a 50 mm cement-faced rigid polyurethane sandwich panel manufactured by Wedge Industries Limited in the standard 8 ft × 4 ft (2440 × 1220 mm) building format. A 30 mm PUF core is poured in place between two 2 × 10 mm fibre cement boards, so the foam bonds 100% of both interfaces as it rises — there is no adhesive layer and no glue line to fail.

Typical use: Internal partitions, dry-lining and light cladding.

Applications

  • Prefabricated and modular housing wall panels
  • Site office, labour accommodation and portable cabin envelopes
  • Cold room and cold storage partitioning
  • Industrial partitions and dry-area internal walls
  • Cladding over steel and light-gauge steel framing systems

Specification Rules

Two rules govern how Wedge Industries Limited specifies this panel, and both exist because of documented field failures rather than sales preference:

  • Fibre cement on every exposed external face. MgO boards absorb ambient humidity and exude chloride-rich water — the documented cause of a facade failure in Denmark with repair costs estimated at approximately DKK 2 billion. MgO facing remains available and is often superior for internal, dry and fire-rated assemblies.
  • PUF core, never EPS, in any fire-rated or humid application. PUF is thermoset and chars in place; EPS is thermoplastic and melts and drips.

Quality Control

  • Thickness measured at 8 points per panel to ± 1 mm on the total build
  • Tap test on every panel for voids and debonded zones
  • Density coupon cut per shift or per new drum pair; core density verified against the 45–47 kg/m³ band
  • Weekly peel test on offcuts — cohesive failure inside the foam is the pass criterion
  • Every panel labelled with code, date, polyol and isocyanate batch numbers, charge weight and operator; the batch log is the basis for Material Test Certificates

Why buy from Wedge Industries Limited

  • Manufacturing bases in India, UK, Spain and China; exports to 45+ countries
  • Panels made to order in your thickness and facing combination rather than sold from a fixed catalogue
  • Full insulation range under one supplier — foam insulation, wall insulation and prefab house systems
  • Material Test Certificates issued from the panel batch log
  • Export documentation, HS-code and Incoterms support through our sister consultancy, ZJELL Limited

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the CSP-50 panel made of?

A 30 mm poured-in-place PUF core between two 10 mm fibre cement boards, finished at 50 mm in 2440 × 1220 mm format, 2.973 m² per panel.

Why fibre cement facing and not MgO board?

Magnesium oxide boards are hygroscopic. Independent testing shows oxychloride MgO board begins weeping liquid at 89% relative humidity after gaining 43% of its mass in water, and that liquid carries 44,123 mg/litre of chloride — over twice the chloride concentration of seawater — which corrodes steel fixings and framing. Indian monsoon and coastal conditions routinely exceed 89% RH for weeks. MgO facing is offered for internal, dry and fire-rated assemblies only.

What is the thermal performance?

Approximately 1.36 m²K/W core thermal resistance at a core conductivity of 0.022 W/m·K. An EPS core would need about 1.64 times the thickness for the same figure, making the wall thicker and heavier for the same U-value.

Is the core poured or glued?

Poured in place. The rising foam is its own adhesive and bonds 100% of both board interfaces by construction, so there is no glue line to starve and no dependence on operator spread consistency.

Why PUF and not an EPS core?

PUF is a thermoset and chars in place; EPS is a thermoplastic that softens, melts and drips. Wedge Industries Limited also supplies passive fire protection systems and will not put a combustible thermoplastic core inside a cement-faced panel that reads as fire-safe.

What is the minimum order quantity and lead time?

Panels are made to order in batches. Minimum order quantity and lead time are confirmed with your quotation — please send panel quantity, thickness and delivery location.
