Overview
Mica gasket sheet seals hot flanges where rubber, fibre and graphite gaskets oxidise or burn out. WedgeMICA gasket sheet uses high-temperature phlogopite mica, the heat-resistant amber mica that keeps its structure at temperatures far beyond organic jointing sheets (natural phlogopite: maximum operating temperature 800–900 °C, mineral literature value).
Two constructions are offered: WMG-P, a semi-flexible phlogopite sheet, and WMG-PSS, phlogopite reinforced with stainless steel for higher bolt loads and pressures. Both are supplied as sheet or as punched gaskets up to 3 mm thick.
