Overview

Wedge HTAL1000 high temperature adhesive is an inorganic, asbestos-free glue developed for economical processing of insulation materials and lightweight construction systems. It is supplied ready to use — no mixing, no catalyst — and holds its bond in permanent service up to a classification temperature of 1,000 °C.

Because it contains no organic binder, the cured adhesive is incombustible and does not generate smoke when the equipment heats up, unlike silicone or epoxy “high temp” glues that soften or burn off a few hundred degrees lower. Its high pH means it does not damage steel substrates, so the same bucket bonds board to board and board to steel casing. This paste grade (WK 84) is the workhorse of the range: it stays where it is put on vertical faces and fills small irregularities in board surfaces.

High temperature adhesive price

Wedge Industries Limited sells high temperature adhesive at ₹485 per kg (≈ $5.50 per kg at ₹88/$, indicative) with a minimum order quantity of 200 kg — a 200 kg order is ₹97,000 (≈ $1,100). Orders below 200 kg are quoted on request. The paste grade is stocked in 7.5 kg and 15 kg buckets; for joints above 1,000 °C the HTAL1600 grade comes in a ready-to-use 10 kg bucket — see High Temperature Resistant Adhesive 1600 °C, 10 kg. Project and export orders are priced in ₹ INR and $ USD with delivery to site in India or CIF/DAP to your port.

Applications

  • Calcium silicate boards — low-density and high-density boards for pipe, vessel, furnace backup and fire protection linings.
  • Microporous insulation — bonding panels and boards in kilns, ladles, heat-treatment furnaces and EV battery enclosures.
  • Ceramic fibre boards and papers and fireproof stones up to 1,000 °C.
  • Perlite and vermiculite boards in ovens, stoves, fireplaces and boilers.
  • Insulation on steel — fixing boards to steel casings, ducts, flues and enclosures.
  • Lightweight fire-protection constructions where an incombustible, smoke-free glue line is required.

How to apply high temperature adhesive

  1. Work at 5–40 °C. Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dust, oil and loose particles; brush board faces before gluing.
  2. Stir the paste in the bucket — no mixing with water or hardener is needed.
  3. Apply a thin, even layer with a notched trowel or spatula to one face; butter the edges for butt joints.
  4. Press the parts together and hold or support them until the adhesive sets (about 8 h).
  5. Allow 24 h before handling loads and one week for full hardening before the first heat-up.
  6. Close the bucket after use and store frost-free; shelf life is 6 months.

Frequently asked questions

What is a high temperature adhesive?

A high temperature adhesive is a glue that keeps its bond at temperatures where ordinary adhesives burn, soften or lose strength. Wedge HTAL1000 is an inorganic, asbestos-free high temperature adhesive with a classification temperature of 1,000 degrees Celsius, used to bond insulation boards, ceramic fibre and fireproof materials to each other and to steel.

What temperature can Wedge high temperature adhesive withstand?

HTAL1000 WK 84 is rated for permanent service up to 1,000 degrees Celsius. For hot-face refractory joints above that, Wedge supplies HTAL1600, a high-alumina air-setting refractory adhesive for service from 1,600 to 1,700 degrees Celsius.

Does the adhesive need mixing?

No. HTAL1000 is supplied ready to use. Stir the paste in the bucket and apply it directly by trowel or spatula. It is processed at 5 to 40 degrees Celsius.

How long does high temperature adhesive take to cure?

The paste grade sets in about 8 hours, hardens in 24 hours and reaches full hardness after one week. The fluid WK 84/16 grade sets in 1 hour and hardens in 8 hours.

Is it safe on steel and is it asbestos-free?

Yes. HTAL1000 is inorganic and asbestos-free, it is incombustible and does not generate smoke, and its high pH does not damage steel substrates, so it can bond insulation directly to steel casings.

What is the price of high temperature adhesive?

Wedge Industries Limited sells high temperature adhesive at INR 485 per kg (about USD 5.50 per kg) with a minimum order quantity of 200 kg, so a 200 kg order is INR 97,000. Orders below 200 kg are quoted on request. Send the quantity and delivery city or port on WhatsApp +91 97175 06848 or through Get Price.
